I think that homework is good for students because it helps them to focus on what is going on in their classes. http://today.duke.edu/ did some reaserch by comparing students who are assigned homework with students assigned no homework but who are similar in other ways. The results of such studies suggest that homework can improve students' scores on the class tests that come at the end of a topic. Students assigned homework in 2nd grade did better on math, 3rd and 4th graders did better on English skills and vocabulary, 5th graders on social studies, 9th through 12th graders on American history, and 12th graders on Shakespeare. This experiment helps to prove that homework does help.
I think that school uniforms would be a good idea because students experience less pressure in deciding what to wear each morning, uniforms cost less overall, student attendance improves, encourages discipline, students takes less time to get ready in the morning, children are free to concentrate on lessons, uniformity promotes a reduction of violence in schools, a decrease in peer pressure to wear trendier brands, uniforms can be reused and recycled, and school intruders are more easily identified in a school of uniformed children. So i think it would help many schools out who has a lot of theses problems.
I think that we do need more laws regulating distracted driving because in 2011, 3,331 people were killed in crashes involving a distracted driver, compared to 3,267 in 2010. An additional, 387,000 people were injured in motor vehicle crashes involving a distracted driver in 2011, compared to 416,000 people injured in 2010. With more regulation these numbers with be decreased.
I am probably a good person but I haven't taken the time to fill out my profile, so you'll never know! |
