I agree with Kent also, kids watch their parents and learn every move. From learning to drive to learning to talk. People need to know the consequences and this is dangerous, but yet it needs to be changed. In my case my dad doesn't text, my mother rarely does behind the wheel, but I text and drive sometimes, I learned this from peers. All the other things stated above are dumb to outlaw, but texting and driving is a bad deal. Studies show in 2011 1.3 million crashes happened due to texting. That number now days is much higher, and will probably never go down until something big makes it stop. Every time you send a text you travel at least the length of a football field. That can get dangerous. I agree this is a learned behavior, but it is dangerous. If you don't think it is dangerous see http://www.textinganddrivingsafety.com/texting-and-driving-stats/ this page is full of facts that are scary to think most people do everyday.

People need the outdoors, I don't care what your family/siblings do mine are outside when it is nice out. Every night they have homework, it is a huge struggle to get it done because they don't want to come inside, they are having fun playing, the homework is annoying, and really they don't wanna come inside until it is dark. By the time its dark it is about bed time for a little guy, but wait I have homework to do. Is this homework making us smarter that we were earlier? Or is it just starting bad habits of rushing through everything. Most students do their homework at night, studies show that they are tired and cranky. Therefore they rush to get their homework done. A study showed from rush university in Chicago did a study that stated 22% of students fall asleep doing homework nightly. This doesn't even say the amount that are so tired they fill in answers, cheat, or simply don't do it.

How are you going to put a law on talking to passengers? Or all these beside talking on the phone: talking on the phone, eating, drinking, using a navigation system, and changing music selections on the radio, CD, or MP3. How are you going to put a law on these? It’s nearly impossible unless you duct tape your hands to the wheel, and drive alone everywhere. Also you could start making vehicles with a cockpit like a plane so the driver is all alone. Be realistic there is no possible way to monitor these or is it necessary. Texting and driving on the other hand could be treated like alcohol if you wanted to treat it like that. Texting and driving is very dangerous as we all know and has caused many deaths. It takes an average of 4.6 seconds to send a text while driving. Cell phones are the number one cause of wrecks. Passengers in on down the line along with eating. Getting paid for grades is the greatest idea since diesel trucks. If that were an option here I would study and make sure every grade is really high. It would be very helpful to my cause of paying for my truck, gas, insurance, etc. maybe us that do that wouldn't have to work so hard and be so busy all the time. MDRC plans to test cash incentives at community and state colleges in California, New Mexico, New York and Ohio. This was stated in a TIME magazine. Despite the study's impressive, albeit short-term results, some critics in higher education are concerned that cash incentives will encourage students to start taking easier courses to ensure they'll do well enough to pocket the money. This is the only downfall there should definitely be a strength of schedule rule too. Really look at this if the kids are taking the time to study and actually learn the stuff, then they are benefiting themselves in two ways not only with the money, but a better education.

First, I’ve cheated before and the reason I cheated was because of lack of time to study or actually do the homework. Really this is kinda ridiculous that we go to school for seven and half hours come home and have more to do on top of everyday life. So we ask someone if they’ve got their homework done, if so they just copy. This has happened many times, in a study done by Stanford University the pressure of cheating is increased when they have to get good grades and have a job, chores, sports, and so on. Also in the study 98% of students high school and college have cheated. If you don’t believe me just go to your local google site google cheating study Stanford and click on the site from Stanford.edu. How to stop this? Not sure if you can unless you give lots of class time, or you are frankly a bum and have nothing else to do but study and do homework, because your parents have always wiped your butt. Thats not the case in most of our lives. So overall, yes cheating is increased by pressure.

People need to realize the consequences of Distracted Driving, really how can you put a law on talking to a passenger? Thats stupid. In a recent study done by our government on distraction.gov 78% of people have texted and driven before. This is a very high amount, I do agree texting and driving is dangerous and stupid. I see nothing wrong with a good driving talking on the phone while driving. Most people drive with one arm anyway. In 2012 3,328 people died from distracted driving, most of these cases were texting and driving. My stand on this is the law on texting and driving should be enforced but talking on the phone, eating, drinking, talking to passengers, using a navigation system, and changing music selections on the radio, CD, or MP3 player should not have a law. Situations while you're driving like rush hour, blizzards, etc. then you should be very dialed in driving. Just educated the people on what could happen, don’t text and drive.

Reasons why homework should be abolished: children, kids, and young adults, are busy with sports, playing outside, work, etc. but the point is that kids need to be kids, and the older ones need to be responsible. Also the high school kids that pay for their own vehicle, gas, basically all of their living don’t need the extra homework!! Another reason is situations in which there is single parents that have to work the late shift and left to baby is the older sibling that has homework to do. Kids need to play, just a simple fact of life and when you make them stay inside to do their homework do you really think your going to get quality work? Probably not I know when I was little I hurried through my homework to get to play. Homework makes kids hate school, I know its made me very angry with school. Overall, homework should be abolished because it not only is junk work, keeping kids inside on nice days, making the kids hate school, keeping the older ones up at night because they had to work, the kids that has to babysit his baby brother because his single mom is at work, but its keeping kids from being kids.

I think we should be able to choose books. It's ridiculous that they can't learn the facts of life. Also I do think it's ok to ban the books that speak of witchcraft or anything that will corrupt their minds. To a point I think it should be allowed, but yet use your head. Stuff gives kids nightmares and makes them crazy. JUST BE SMART!!!!! Swear words and stuff is no big deal, but corrupt gross things is different story.
